ABOUT

Greetings and welcome to the LBGG site.

LongBeachGreenGuide.com was born out of my passion for moving along the green continuum—and out of my frustration from not having a one-stop resource guide for finding eco-friendly products and services in Long Beach (California). So I decided to create a website that would provide this type of information in just a couple of clicks.

My desire is to keep things simple. No bells and whistles or complicated pages. It’s also important to me that this venue remains positive in tone and non-divisive in its slant (free from “us” versus “them”). We all embrace knowledge in different ways and incorporate change into our personal habits at our own pace. My goal here is to disseminate information.

This website will be continually updated and ever-evolving as time permits. In addition to gathering and organizing material for the site, I wear a few other hats (wife, mother, and freelance writer). Tackling a project that will most likely expand is a big challenge, but I have great hopes for the future potential of LBGG.

In doing my research I was pleased to find that the City of Long Beach has much to offer in the way of resources and services. I’ve included links to many City of L.B. pages that fall under the broad term “green” –from composting workshops to water conservation tips.

I hope you find what you’re looking for. If not, please let me know how the site could be improved. As you’ll see in some of the sparser categories, Long Beach needs more small businesses with an eco-friendly slant. I hope that some entrepreneurs will come out of the “woodwork” and take on the challenge. The customers will come.

Many ideas still brewing…

Thanks for making Long Beach a greener city.
